Dr. Cade Douglas, Superintendent, Sevier School District, was selected Utah’s 2024 Superintendent of the year by the Utah School Superintendents Association (USSA) and is a candidate for the National Superintendent of the Year Award by the American Association of School Administrations (AASA).  AASA will announce the National Superintendent of the Year at its Annual Conference on Education in February 2025.

In June, USSA members voted Superintendent Douglas as USSA Superintendent of the Year and the formal announcement was made August 7, 2024, at the Sevier School District board meeting in Richfield, UT.  The award is designed to recognize outstanding leadership and pay tribute to those who lead Utah school districts.

“Congratulations to Superintendent Douglas, an outstanding leader in public education who has made an immense impact on the learning communities of Sevier School District and the entire state,” said Lexi Cunningham, executive director of USSA. “During the past year, Superintendent Douglas served as president of USSA.  Superintendent Douglas is an advocate for public education and often started meetings talking about the impact that leaders have on their schools and communities.  He also represented USSA during the legislative session and communicated regularly with legislators on the bills that USSA supported or opposed.”

Sevier School District serves over 4,500 PreK-12 students in five elementary schools, three middle schools, and four high schools.  The district consistently graduates over 85% of its students.  All families have access to both full-day and all-day kindergarten programs.  High school students can participate in a variety of CTE course offerings.  The Sevier School District has an on-going relationship with Snow College and students can participate in concurrent enrollment.
