Utah’s public schools continue to lead in their offering of choice and opportunities for students and families.

  • 647 seniors in the Alpine school District received the Utah Seal of Biliteracy this year in 11 different languages.  This represents a 24.4% increase in Utah Seal of Biliteracy recipients over last year.

  • A college degree before graduating high school?  It’s happening at Jordan PREP in the Jordan School District.  Jordan PREP is a six week program that students participate in for three consecutive summers.  Students are prepared to take advanced math, science, and technology classes in high school; thus, creating opportunities to successfully pursue STEM studies at the collegiate level.

  • Four seniors at Rich High School completed the EMT course at Bridgerland Tech before graduating from high school.

  • Jordan School District was recently named an International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Distinguished District.  Jordan has repeatedly demonstrated effectiveness and innovation through the use of technology.

  • The Granite School District Tumaini Process provided newcomers and refugees the support needed to acquire necessary skills to navigate a new school environment.  1111 newcomers and 243 refugees were served through the Tumaini Process in 2023-2024.

  • Provo School District’s Center for Accelerated Studies is a full-time gifted magnet program for students in grades 4-6 from across the district.  The program was created to address the unique instructional needs of academically gifted students. It serves about 180 gifted students who have demonstrated high proficiency in mathematics, science, and language arts.

  • The Tooele School District offers French, Spanish, and Portuguese as part of their Dual Language Immersion program.

Utah public schools are leaders in choice.  Districts continue to support students and look for ways for them to engage in innovative learning opportunities.
